Forbes noted that its list of top 10 highest-paid YouTubers in 2020 secured a whopping 30 per cent growth from the year 2019 with an estimated revenue of US$211 million. Earnings: US$19.7 million

Subscribers: 16.3 million

Jeffree Star is famous for his eccentricities, controversies and a heap of talent. He was first a singer, then a make-up artist and occasional YouTuber, and now the owner of a million dollars make-up line that he sells direct-to-consumer. The beauty star is regularly making tons of money through his business venture. The revenue from his make-up line is far more than what the artist makes on YouTube. The recently launched popular Conspiracy Collection reportedly sold over one million eye shadow palettes in just a matter of  30 minutes.

9. David Dobrik

Earnings: US$20.4 million

Subscribers: 18.3 million

The famous 24-year-old YouTuber first became popular with his videos on Vine. After beginning his YouTube journey in 2015 he has gone to extreme lengths to entertain his followers over the years. From shaving someone’s entire body to marrying his best friend’s mother as a prank and later amicably divorcing her. His channel today includes many giant corporate sponsorships with brands like Bumble, EA, and SeatGeek.

8. Blippi (Stevin John)

Earnings: US$22.4 million

Subscribers: 13.4 million

This cheerful American children’s entertainer and educator is perhaps the only Adult YouTuber who creates kids’ content on our list. His videos mainly consist of content related to the children like nursery rhymes and educational songs and videos. His channel has accumulated over 8.2 billion views and still counting. Aside from the income from YouTube, he is also making big bucks from a full-scale merchandise line at big-box retailers

7. Like Nastya (Anastasia Radzinskaya)

Earnings: US$24.3 million

Subscribers: 76.5 million

The six-year-old Nastya is one of the world’s fastest-growing creators with her videos being released in up to seven different languages. Her expressive videos, which usually feature her doing simple chores or just playing with her dad using simple language appeals to the kids all around the world. Her popularity on TikTok has garnered 3 million followers.

6. Preston

Earnings: US$22.4 million

Subscribers: 17.8 million

Back in 2019, Preston Arsement earned the spot of the highest-paid YouTube star in the world. He made around US$14 million in just that year. He initially started out creating content for the extremely popular video game ‘Minecraft’, and later branched out to several other gaming-focused YouTube channels. His bulk of revenue comes from the Minecraft servers, which he runs for seven figures annually.

5. Markiplier (Mark Fischbach)

Earnings:  US$25.7 million

Subscribers: 29.9 million

Video Game analysis is highly popular in the world and Markiplier made his mark with his ultra-popular video game analyses of various games. His channel on YouTube has over 7 billion total video views in which he focuses on gameplay commentary videos, or “let’s play” videos, about survival horror, indie, and action video games.

4. Rhett and Link

Earnings: US$26.3 million

Subscribers: 41.8 million

Together, Rhett and Link run the entertainment company ‘Mythical’. It began with ‘Good Mythical Morning’, a hilarious variety talk show, back in 2012. By early 2019, they paid close to US$10 million to acquire ‘Smosh’ which is a sketch-comedy YouTube channel with more than 100 employees. Their videos brought in around US$11 million in estimated revenue from YouTube’s ad-share programme and have garnered more than 2 billion views on YouTube in the past year.

3. Dude Perfect

Earnings: US$30.3 million

Subscribers: 57.7 million

The channel plays out the goofiness of a few friends playing with lightsabres, Nerf guns, and paintballs and the world can’t seem to get enough of watching Garret Hilbert, Coby and Cory Cotton, Cody Jones and Tyler Toney. The group behind the YouTube channel Dude Perfect earned about US$6 million by releasing a documentary, Backstage Pass that led to a national tour. They post videos regularly and their channel has 2.77 billion views and still increasing.

2. MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson)

Earnings: US$31.6 million

Subscribers: 68.5 million

MrBeast is undoubtedly YouTube’s biggest rising star. He has quickly won the hearts and views with eccentric stunts like riding a Ferris wheel 1,000 times, freezing himself in ice, constructing a massive Lego tower and even buying scratch coupons worth a million USD. His hugely expensive concepts and extravagant giveaways like his special holiday episode in which he literally blew up US$600,000 in fireworks only garner billions of views.

1. Ryans World (Ryan Kaji)

Earnings: US$38.9 million

Subscribers: 30.5 million

Ryan Kaji started making videos from the age of only 3 years old. He mainly does toy reviews of various brands and gets billions of views from like-minded kids who then pester their parents to buy them.

The nine-year-old star was also the first YouTuber to be featured in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with a float based on his superhero alter ego. Talk about a dream come true!
