How to setup a Business Instagram Profile
For creating a business profile/account on Instagram, you must first create a personal Instagram account and then switch it to a business profile. If you already have an Instagram account, skip to the next section to make the switch.
If you don’t have an Instagram account, here are the steps:
From PC
Go to Instagram.com
Click “Sign Up.”
Enter your email address/Phone Number and create a username and password, or sign up through your Facebook account.
From an iPhone
Download Instagram from the App Store.
Open the app once installed.
Tap “Create New Account.”
Enter your email address or phone number. You can sign up through your Facebook account.
If you signed up with your phone number, follow the instructions for entering the confirmation code.
From an Android
Download the Instagram app from the Google Play Store.
Open the app once installed.
Tap “Sign Up With Email or Phone Number.” You can alternatively sign up through your Facebook account.
If you signed up with your phone number, follow the instructions for entering the confirmation code.
How to Switch to Your Business Profile
If you have done the steps above, follow these easy steps when you’re ready:
1. Go to your profile on the mobile app.
2. Click the hamburger menu (three stacked horizontal bars) in the top right corner.
3. Click the “Settings” icon at the bottom of the list.
4. Select Account.
5. Choose Linked Accounts.
6. Choose Facebook and connect your business’s Facebook page. If you do not have a Facebook Business Page, create one before completing it. If your Facebook page is already linked, move on to the next step.
7. Once complete, return to the Settings menu.
8. Select Account.
9. Choose the new option, “Switch to Professional Account.”
10. Follow the prompts to add any additional details.
11. Select Done.
